Shut the Front Door Improv (STFD) is a nonprofit organization in London, Ontario that is dedicated to the promotion, education, and performance of improvisational theatre. We are a volunteer-run organization that:
Performs Improv Comedy shows
Conducts Improv for Business workshops
Teaches Adult Improv classes
Supports other local charity organizations through donations and event support
Though we are a small organization, we have a lot of big ideas and creative opportunities we want to dive further into! Our dream is to be strong contributors to building a thriving comedy community in London. In order to make the dream a reality, we need a little help from our friends with the coordination of some of these projects.
STFD is looking for an energetic and motivated Volunteer Coordinator to help us recruit and manage our volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for allocating responsibilities and taking our volunteers to the next level.
What you’ll do:
Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media etc.)
Co-create and deliver appropriate training as needed
Produce schedules for everyday activities
Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions (e.g. special events)
Act as communications liaison between volunteers and Board of Directors
Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments
Conduct mid-season surveys with volunteers
What you bring:
Previous experience in coordinator role or similar
Previous experience in the nonprofit sector (volunteer or paid position)
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Ability to assess skills of others and delegate accordingly
Strong understanding of Microsoft office or G Suite programs (Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs, etc)
Flexible schedule with some evening availability
